Utrecht University is one of Europe’s leading research universities. Each year, more than 2,000 international students come to Utrecht University to take part in its excellent English-language programmes and courses.The University is ranked 1st in the Netherlands, 11th in Europe and 50nd in the world by the prestigious Shanghai Academic Rankings of World Universities 2010.

The university provides high-quality teaching. All programmes meet stringent quality requirements. To encourage such an attitude, the number of resits is limited and all undergraduate students receive a binding study advice in their first year.

The university offers a selection of 45 undergraduate programmes [4 through English] and 169 postgraduate programmes. Overview of the Town or City

Utrecht is the fourth largest City in the Netherlands, with a population of over 300,000. The city has the highest student population in the country . Due to its central position, it is an important transport hub for both rail and road transport.

Utrecht  has the second highest number of cultural events in the Netherlands, after Amsterdam. Shopping is Utrecht is fantastic as it houses one of the largest indoor shopping centres in Holland. Big brands and small boutiques with fashion, accessories and jewellery are lined up side by side. The nightlife in Utrecht is brilliant: with over 50,000 students living in the City there is never a dull moment.
