The University of Southern Denmark is a modern institution offering education and research at the highest level. Every day more than 1,400 researchers and 19,000 students build on the University’s reputation as a centre of academic excellence

At the multi-campus university you choose which location suits you best. The largest campus is located in Odense, birthplace of world-renowned storyteller Hans Christian Andersen. The remaining four campuses with international students lie in Kolding, Esbjerg, Sønderborg and Slagelse.

Overview of the Town or City

With about 180,000 inhabitants, Odense is the regional capital of Funen and the third biggest city in Denmark. The city is more than a thousand years old and various museums tell the history of Odense and of Denmark. Odense lies within a short distance of beaches and many leisure activities are offered.

Odense’s harbour has recently been transformed into to a hip new neighbourhood with student accommodation and music, film and art facilities. Many exciting experiences await in the harbour: an open basketball court, a climbing course, water bicycles, canoes, kayaks, interesting architecture and a wealth of cultural events
